What are back links?

    I always here this term used all over this forum, i al wanted to know what are back links and how do you use them and or get them?

    Back links are links from other sites pointing to your site. You get them through directory submitting, link exchanges, or buying links.

    ur link on my site is a backlink

    allout explained it pretty well, its just ur link on other websites, ur link on ur own (same) website isnt a backlink :)

    backlink = link that points to your site.

    Basically, "backlink" is pretty much the same as "link" (no idea why it's called a "backlink", anyone could call it "link from other site pointing to your site", but I suppose there's slang for every language... :))
