I try to run an honest business online with over 40 websites in my network but I am getting more and more annoyed with the following... Spammers and Scammers from India posting crappy pathetic adverts on my classifieds sites in the wrong categories and repeating the advert over 100 times a day using proxies when we block them. Obviously they don't do any good because sometimes they even post without any contact details, idiots. Websites like Wickipedia coming up number one in Google for every search term under the sun, giving us webmasters no chance of that number one spot that we deserve for all our hard work without the funding that Wickipedia has through donations and stuff. Spottt, how the hell did that get a PR5 rank after only a couple of months? AdBrite is crap anyway. Obviously some sort of deal has been done there! None of my sites that I spend hours a day on promoting and building up have anywhere near PR5 after over 5 years of trying! People posting porn images and adverts on family friendly sites. F***ing idiots and should be either shot or put in jail. It is on par to peadophilia to post pornographic images on a family friendly site because family friendly means that kids will be able to access the site. Once again, F***ing iditos! What annoys you the most?
I know it doesn't affect traffic, I know this because my traffic is always growing, but many other people use page rank to value a site etc. People are always looking for links from sites with high PR and the reputation of high PR sites obviously adds to the overall repuatation of a business.
guess it just goes to show that as much as it is you wish things were fair, nothings fair. this has been going on long before you had those sites up, and it will be going on long after you take them down. its just a part of the net, and obviously as long as some people don't have any real morals or ethics, they'll do whatever they can in order to make money. but don't let it annoy you, or else you'll drive yourself insane because its never going to stop. best thing you can do is just block all of india from your site. sounds drast, but i know a few people who have done that because they get a lot of people from india and china abusing their systems. like the saying goes, sometimes a few bad apples ruins the whole barrel.
Thank you. I am going to remove India and China from my classifieds site and also IP block the whole IP range. I will never let them take over my business and I will continue, never will I take my sites down. I own a forum called The Scam List, I just keep adding their IP addresses and emails to the forum for other webmasters to use and block. I guess it is just the strongest and hardest working sites survive.
Hi Dear, I guess what you are facing is problem, But i don't guess it might because of one complete country I am from India and I am sorry to hear that but trust me not all the people or a country could be blamed for one of those idiots or spammers. Anyways spammers are in many countries. Well point it not which country. Point is try to block those specific IP's instead of blocking all of the region
Like I said after 5 years 90% of the spam comes from India on my network. By blocking India, I have saved about 3 hours work a day clearing the crap and slowly my sites are looking more reputable. I am not saying that everyone with a computer in India is a spammer or scammer, just sick to death of clearing all the crap from there. I block spammers and then they switch ip, normally another Indian ip, possibly a dynamic ip, not sure, but spam has almost gone!
Well you can not blame whole country. 10-15% users in almost every country are spammers. The only issue is ignorance about the fact on what to be done and what not to be. I am getting spams on my blog from Nigeria, China, Pak, Europe and US too. That doesn't mean I should go ahead and block them. Spending a little time on spam saves my reputation. The spammers will always be loosers and every Internet user in India who has some ethics knows this thing. You know what annoys me most? Comments on my country people without knowing us completely. Clear your thoughts mate. We are GOOD HUMANS LIKE YOU.
Then tell me why this has happened? Since blocking India, my spam on the site has almost completly gone! Not saying that everyone in India is a spammer and I do a lot of work with Indian programmers for my Facebook applications. They agree with me, all my Indian friends agree that blocking India would erradicate all my spam from the certain site. I do not make much money from the FREE service that was the problem, so I can't really be spending hours after hours ip banning persistant spammers mainly from India, who after being banned switch to a different Indian IP address! So before you say I am arrogant or racist, I am not any of these. I just fight against spammers and scammers, these people should not even have access to an internet connection! If you have been constantly fighting against these sick bastards that post pornographic images on family friendly sites and ignoring your terms and conditions then you might understand where I am coming from. Typical and easy to blame me as being a racist or arrogant. 100% of adverts posted on my sites from India did not follow my guidelines and were spam and scams.
Intellectual pride. When a person believes starts to believe he is the greatest among all mortals. This is simply annoying.
