I had 18,000 unique people come to my site yesterday. I made a TOTAL of $1.50 That is horrible. Heres my site www.monitorporn.info Any ideas on what im dong wrong here? Are my ads in the wrong place or something?
If you're advertising in the Church Gazette, then I'd say your ads are in the wrong place, yes. Seriously, it sounds like your visitors are entirely untargeted? Your url sounds to me like something totally different from what I found on the site, by the way (with that name, you'd expect it to be perhaps more like a "watchdog" site? Not sure whether this has any relevance at all to what you're asking, though).
Ads are definitely in the wrong place - I even didn't saw them after opening your site .. Try to put them together with your menu or header .. it should get a bit more clicks
Or it could be directed which means they have no need to click the ads because they have found what they are looking for.
All the traffic comes from adult sites and is mostly from UK and USA @ Alexa MonitorPorn.info <--------- Monitor- Porn- your Computer Monitor and porn Domain name Has 0 effect since the users dont see it till the page is loaded. yeah it was Trust me i was pretty upset for a minute. I spent 40 bucks on traffic and thought i made 2 bucks out of the deal. I was glad to find out i was wrong....
it's not all about just visitors. it's about about what your visitors are interested in. First priority is for them to be interested in your site - second priority is for them to be interested in your ads. You need to make both those priorities true for you to see profit from your site.
