Okay ive been really unseuccesful at writing ads, i always get 0.50% CTR on every single ad i did. Here is one of my "horrible" ad with a 0.69% CTR: Get Rid Of Stress Forever Conquer Stress in 30 days. Learn Simple Methods To Manage Stress. www.XXXXXXStress.com Ive been running it on keywords: "stress" [stress] stress [stress management] "stress management" stress management I dont care showing it because i know it doesn;t work, so.... Could anyone just tell me how i could edit that ad to make it have a better CTR? I dont know why it has such a low ctr. Is my ad that bad? Im not looking for someone to do the job for me. i just want to have an example of how i need to change my way of thinking about google ads....I need someone to show me my errors.
Add "free report available" or "get your free e-book". You can make this report in one day and keep much more prospects... Put the link to your site on each page of this report. And don't reveal too many issues there, try to let your visitors come back to your site, for example, "find more information at .. yoursite.com''
direct link to where? affiliate page? new adwords policy requires everyone to have a landing page as the display URL and the Landing Page/Destination URL must be on the same domain
yes im redirecting directly to the affiliate page. I am aware of google's policy. The display url must match the page the customer will find itself on. He finds himself on the sales page, so i wrote the sale's page url.
1. I'd start by taking the broad match completely off. Google probably displays your ads on the stress related keywords but sometimes they might be completely unrelated. Take the broad match off for a while and see if it helps. 2. Find more keywords. AdWords itself has a keyword suggestion tool. Add some related keywords. Again, don't use broad match. 3. Go to the Reports tab and generate a new report on "Search Query Performance". You'll see what keywords triggered your ads. 4. Check out this 31 AdWords tips on how to write better ads. Hope this gets you some ideas.
I agree with finspin, don't use single terms like stress you will probably find that it is appearing with "stress fractures" etc. dig down and find at least 2+ word phrases long tails etc like how to relieve stress, must think what is the conversation in the prospects head....message to market match. Also try different headlines like Feeling Stressed Out? I find quotes work well "Instant Stress Relief" etc. Hope this helps ~Andrew
Also I meant to say if you're serious you have to go landing page, Google will smack you around with direct linking...it can be ok for a real quick test but beyond that forget it, plus a good pre-sell landing page can make a huge difference in conversions. I use lpGen or landing page generator which can create a page with good content in 10 minutes...works a treat and all my campaigns have good to great quality score now with ultra low min bids i.e. 0.05 cpc where top bids are 2.00+ worth the effort..! ~Andrew
Are you suggesting us to always avoid: - single term keyword - broad match I have thousands of them, and the number of clicks is quite high but the conversion rate is always decreasing. If I take your advise, then I'm afraid that my number of clicks will drop like a rock and so will the conversions. Any suggestions?
Have you tried using dynamic keyword insertion via the {keyword:} function? that tends to boost the CTR a lot.
