I have a blog with a "general" target audience. it is www.dailytip.net. Me and partner submit one article everyday. How can I increase my traffic. So far we're ranked highly for keywords but no one searches for them. Actually for one of our articles we're ranked highly for various keywords and it gives us a bit of trafffic. (but only like 14 - 30 visitors). How can I improve traffic? One more question, We paid a designer for a new theme. Its being coded right now. When I apply my theme it will obviuosly change the html markup, so will that be a big problem for google/yahoo?
Depending on if the code is an improvement or not upon what you currently have. I like your website, but it is so much of a "generic" audience that it would seem that you are totally reliant upon search engine traffic. For example, shoemoney's blog is almost all about making money online and related to webmasters. He is capable of keeping that traffic. Not that I am bashing your website, but you guys seem to be covering a variety of topics making it less likely that you will keep routine visitors.
Well regarding your theme... - It depends on the actual code. And as far as the traffic goes, the "right" keyword research is the key. - You obviously do not want your website to be optimized for keywords no-one is searching for...
alright, thanks for the input. I am afraid each article has it's own keywords. . I am going to have to SEO on every topic i make then (bold words, images with alt). And i guess i gotta get some high PR linkbacks..
Try submitting your website to social bookmarking sites, though the traffic you may get from it will not last for a long time but worthed if done right.
