can you guyz explain me the steps to hold own tld? i mean if i need the domain with the extension .fox what all the steps to be taken?i know about icann but am not sure abt the procedures and the application fee...is there any other way to have own dot extension in our server other than icann?so that the dot extension created should also be valid to sell...
You can create your own extensions..only icann can (lol that sounds wierd) there is a application fee of 50000$ or 20000$ which is non refundable to apply to start your own tld. But only if they approve it u can get the rights
Has ICANN accepted any applications for custom TLDs yet? I remember seeing that they had started accepting applications, but have yet to see any of the new extensions. Also, if memory serves me correctly, you need to actually run your own servers to support your TLD. If you ask me, this is a pipe dream unless you've got a few money sacks with dollar signs on them.
