    Hi Friends,

I'm a content writer and not having much experience in running a blog/site with adsense. A few months back I started a site that talks about different business Ideas. Two weeks back I applied for adsense and got approved:p. Then I decided to take my blog seriously. And I have some mails to friends, colleagues etc and posted in some forums about my blog. I added some interesting posts also. And the results were amazing. I got more than 1000 page views in the last two days even without any efforts. I believe it's because it's such a 'hot topic'.

    My site is www.entrepedia.in

Pls have a look at it and let me know what all things I have to do to improve my site as well as traffic. Some one in dp told me that I have placed ads not in a proper way. Pls have a check on that also.

    Regards,
    varghese:D

#1 it looks like a typical entry level blog. There's nothing unique about the layout or design. Most internet users decide with in 7 seconds if they want to click back or continue to look at your site. And they will often decide WITHOUT reading. You need a layout that pulls people in.

#2 Your ad placement is off. They are in irrelevant random spots. Text top banner ads are irrelevant. So are ads that are isolated on the side bar. The best ad places are appropriately within your content. Your ads color and link colors should blend with your web site so they appear as content rather than ads.

#3 You are forcing the user to scroll from Left to Right which is a big no no. This destroys the users experience on your site. It's distracting.

#4 Blogs are powerful tools to increase traffic to your site. But with every tool you need to know how to it first. What you are doing is just...writing. You need to first pick a subject THEN research your keywords that closely relate to your subject. Find keywords with higher traffic but lower competition (use Googles Keyword Search to do this). Pick 2-4 good quality keywords and use them throughout your article applying BASIC SEO fundamentals. Then submit the article to a couple different sites as a direct link. You don't need to go over board 3-5 PR1 links will go along way.

For traffic, put your site in your signature here and/or the signature of any other business type forums you participate in.

Your titles are engaging so I think people will be able to look past your design site's flaws.

You might want to clean up the ad layouts. The ads don't blend well with the rest of the theme so they won't convert as well as ads that look like they belong one your site.

If you make it a practice to blog everyday and then post it out to your social networks you should get a ton of traffic in a few months. Its all about being consistent and giving it some personality.

Exchange link with those others which have blog with related topic. Like you target on SME and you mostly sharing business idea. You need to find those site which have same topic with you and it would be best to exchange link as well to gain win win situation.
You can work hard on blog comment to get knew lot of other reader and bring them come to your sites.
You can submit your blog to blog review site and blog directories.
Learn up SEO while most of it able to help you get lot of traffic...haha

I'm going to post again... BEFORE you focus on link building focus on building your site. You need a design.

I agree with NetStar, the problem you should address first is design.
Tip: Photos makes reading more engaging.
