Relax! And please read the forum rules before posting again- thank you.

I have that SAMS book and it's actually pretty good. This book is how I first learned to work w/ PHP & mySQL

The second half of the book consists of exercises and sample projects. And if you take the time to do them, you'll actually become pretty proficient.

    Hi,

I knew a bit of programming before i started, but i was using "PHP5 Power Programming" which i thought was really good.

    Covers PHP, MySQL and PEAR.

    Regards,

    Steve

If I were you, I would google for tutorials first and then follow the 10/120 rule.
10 minutes learning the new functionality; 120 minutes to apply what you learned.
