Hello, there are plenty of standard forums installed across the web (phpBB, vBulletin, IP.Board). All forums offer users to create profile pages and often enough there is a forum for the introduction of new users. The idea would be to create accounts semi-automatically in all (relevant) forums and, if suitable, create a self-presenting post. Any experiences with this idea? Is there even a software program for doing this?
Well, usually google doesnt index the profile page, only if it is visited a lot it does index. If i search for Multiplexor Digitalpoint, It will result posts made by you. So i would still prefer forum posting and signature links as thats what can you help you more. Talking about creating accounts automatically, i really don't know if its possible with captcha's , but yes you can pay someone to create accounts for you. and you should ask them to use different IP's as well, and remember its called SPAM, so its not a good thing that you do that. Instead, make useful posts, and that would get you better traffic than making stupid accounts [ semi-automatically ] Just my $0.02 TetraLabs
I have always wondered how much if any links on a profile page can help. I've heard both sides of the fence on this. Some tell me it does count as a link and others say it doesn't have much benefit. I would like to see what some of the responses to your question will be!
hixsonvol, it's quite easy to understand what works and what doesn't. As we all know Google try to emulate our behaviour. Thus if you think it's good, google try to understand why you think so and implement it into their algo. So honestly, does anybody think profile links are good? If you were to rank sites manually, would you consider their 1,000,000 links from profiles (which they never use) or you'd rank somebody higher with just a few links from good websites? As google try to do the same, it's quite obvious.
if the main page of the forum has, you have a good chance to let google know your link, anyway not all the backlinks can show up. It doesn't show up doesn't mean it is not known by google.
