What about dead clicks?

On my site - www.altaimage.com.au - I've spent quite a bit on adwords to push people through - but when studying the analytics I'm seeing a bigger bounce on visitors - I'm under the impression that more often than not - and trying not to be skeptical here! But it's almost as if my competitors are clicking my links to use up my adwords credits and putting my budget out of whack!

Anyone else feeling the same or just me!

...Since Google doesn't charge you on suspicious clicks, like: several consecutive clicks from the same IP address.

So your competitors should hide their IP (and still use an identified one, and/or use other technichs) to harm your budget.

The site is very aesthetic but lacks any "call to action" + it takes more than 30 secs of reading small letters to understand what it's about. They say a user should get some sense of where he landed in the first 5 secs.

Try landing page optimization - a source I value is marketingexperiments.com - butyou can find many other good ones

    Good luck

Why is it that when they don't get expected results, people blame competitors clicking their ads or blame Adwords as a fraud?

Scott, have you ever thought that maybe you are using the tool wrong? Wrong keywords maybe. Maybe your ads could be better. I agree that your site has to do a better selling job. Also, how many clicks are you talking about? Analytics on a dozen clicks is not going to tell you anything of value.
