    you can use Sitemaps to provide Google with metadata about specific types of content on your site, including video, images, mobile, and News.

    Its just easier for google bots to crawl and index your web pages, when you decide you want to rank.

    Sitemaps is more important for the website to crawled the web pages in the search engine. there are two type of sitemaps XML site map and the other is HTML site map. XML sitemap is search engine friendly and HTML sitemap is user friendly.

    Xml sitemap
    Html sitemap
