What a Check!

Damn, what a check!

So I got my income tax refund/return check today from the Department of Treasury from teh State of New Jersey today...

I must say damn, what a check!

A whopping $6.00 is all I got...
SIX FUCKING DOLLARS. It costed me $90+ to file it.

How nice...

 

I would be happy with that. I'll probably end up PAYING 6-10K this year.

Thats a good thing right? You weren't one of the stupid ppl that filed their taxes wrong and had to wait for the government to pay you back the money they didn't deserve in the first place.

 

And it took them like 10$ post stamp to send you the letter containing the check ?

 

True, I never understood why people want a huge return. All that means is that you overpaid and gave the government YOUR money all year to earn interest on when you could have done the same yourself.

 

I think I am going to have to pay this year...would love to get 6$ back...

 

I didn't have much to claim in 1099's etc....so it was $30 for federal, $30 for nj ---and i paid $58 to file -- I consider myself lucky -- I agree with not getting a large return, I rather just have it all year long.

 

Ah I hate the word taxes, thank god I live in the Middle East.

 

I am getting about $350.00 back... would have been around a thousand but I had a few bonds sitting around that I needed to cash in... and low and behold that is "untaxed income" at the point of cashing them. Oh well.

 

I'm going to end up having to pay as well...bummer too...I've got college to pay for next year!

 

Tax return? Not gonna happen here...Long live Revenue Canada (not)
