I was thinking to invest around $5000 over internet to generate some income.... i was wondering what people have to say on this issue :D

I mean where should i invest that amount to earn some extra money?

I have been running websites in past but as all of us know income from websites advertisement is not too high so where should i invest that much of amount? any suggestions will be welcome

for example if you say Forex Exchange than which is the best one available? if you say make websites then what type of website should be preferable to generate some better amount of income or just anything

    Please advise

i disagree , 95% of the people that buy sites in Flippa... have little idea about internet marketing. Flippa is ok for the wanna-be marketer. With 5000 you can register 100 domain names and spend the rest in outsourcing content creation and link building.

THEN go to Flippa and sell each site for $200... there you go mate

    A nice return .

yeah may be you are right, actually i am already running 5 websites myself so i am not that stupid who spend thousands of dollars for nothing :D But if the site is really established and earning some good income the risk can be taken however i am not planning to purchase any site anytime soon may be if it really has to offer me something i might consider

Well thanks to both of you for your ideas..... any other idea will highly be appreciated

This may not be the answer that you were looking for but I started trading stocks with little over $5,000 back in early 2006. I read a bunch of books (free from public libraries), magazines, blogs, etc., and learned a few things and started trading. I don't make a lot of money trading stocks now because I don't have as much time as I did in 2006 but I still make more money than I do with all the websites that I run.

That trading account, that I started with little over $5,000, is now worth $26,000.

So I recommend stock trading if you have enough time during trading hours.

I would invest in domains. Find a good domains, develop them, and resell them developed and you can easy make ROI of at least 10. Its a big plus that you are developer.

I advise you to start trading forex coz it working time is flexible and the profit is high.
And i would deter you from using and robot to trade for you.
You need to take the trade yourself to be profitable.

Forex is way to risky for a small invester, especially if your only looking to invest 5k, you could lose that on one trade if you don;t know what your doing.

$5,000 is a fair budget to start with. You should certainly come up with a business plan or you could blow through that amount quickly with all the "push the red button" gimmicks out there.

I'd suggest you should certainly spend a fair portion of that on quality promotion - things like Adwords to drive traffic - but only once your site is optimally set-up (good mix of useful content, revenue generating banners & lead capture).

If you're starting from scratch, choose your niche very carefully as this will go a long way in deciding how much you can potentially make. Not all niches are created equal, not by a long shot. I've a report on the seven best niches for setting up an internet business, PM me for a complimentary read :)

Just remember you don't have to spend the whole $5k just because you have 5k to spend. Spend you think will allow you to make the best profit.

Agreed. Though I'd stick probably $4k in stocks and $1k into web development. If you're a good web developer, $1k should be more than enough to work with to build up whatever kind of site you want. Unless you're going for the adult market and wanting to produce unique content, in which case you'll need all $5k to pay the models. :p

My AAPL stock was up to around $183 or so this morning when I looked (bought at around $90 a share) and BAC was around $16 (it was around $3 a share however many months ago). If you take your time and do some research, you can make a killing in the market. Keep in mind that you can also lose a ton as well, and sometimes you have to leave the money in a stock for the long haul.

website flipping sounds like you need to know a lot about what you're doing.

go low cost index funds, investing where you don't need a ton of experience.
