Alexa Rank is based on historical traffic data and statistics collected from millions of Alexa toolbar users,and is a combined measure of page views and users.The lower the Alexa ranking number the more heavily visited the site.

sites with daily 5000 to 100,000 traffic may have an alexa rank below 100,000 ..... and its right that the lower the alexa rank the better.

The lower number you have, the higher your ranking is. The higher your ranking, the more traffic you are getting.

 

But how can I now the ranking of my site? actually I don't mind Alexa but since there are lots of IM talking about this ranking, I want also to know my rank

 

Go to alexa.com and type in your url. You'll get to see your website's ranking there, dude.

 

Alexa ranking is based on the traffic to your website. The site with less traffic is bound to have the lower ranking. Alexa ranking allows you to compare different web sites.(i.e., you can look into the performance of your competitors website and exceed the performance of your sites with same niche).
