Hi there, One of my friend mentioned to me (online) about WU. So searched a bit on google for it. What do you guys think about it ? Is it comparable and secure as paypal is ? Just wanted to know, as one of the member was swearing so much about WU cons on a forum ( name withheld ) so I got a bit of confused about it. Any help is appreciated. JMDC
Yes western union is completely secured rather more safe then PayPal as you don't get charge backs on them. But there are few things that you need to take care about WU before you receive payments otherwise you can end up in trouble. 1.) You are not allowed to do business transaction through WU. 2.) You can not receive more then 12 transaction in one calender year. 3.) Limit is of $2500 per transaction. Except above three points WU is good to get your money quick. Thanks
Hi Radhika, Thanks for the info. But only 12 transactions in a year is a limit. But as you say, secure than Paypal, hmm, sounds better. Thanks, will research a bit more on it and read what others have to say. Thanks again, +ve Rep added. JMDC
You have 10% fee on all of your transfers btw. If you find out anything more about WU, please tell me more, cause I might use it.
Yes, WU is 100% safe and even more than paypal but the only problem is their fees. It contains high fees or else it is good.
I've used WU to pay some of my workers in Pakistan works well for me. They did have a dumb verification procedure I had to go through to prove I was who I stated to be and so that turned me off from them for good.
In my experience, 10% fee is somehow very high. western union is costly... and u need to go to the agent location. and wait, it is not as easy as it says...and its conversion rates are hell. taking money form W.U is double hell. its just an option, where there is no -w...a...y X
use paypal better than western union because they have very high fees and it takes a long time for verification
Western union is for sending and receiving money from a friend or relative. Most of the time, Western Union is the payment method used by scam sellers. Once you sent the money and it is being claimed by the recipient, you can no longer get it back. Western Union charges 10% of the transaction amount.
Western Union is not safe at all, you can try obopay it is kind of the same concept but if you don't get your product or service you can open a dispute and do a cc chargeback
I have tried using Western Union and it is really reliable and you can choose on what currency your planning to get the money ...But the fees is really something not cheaper
I don't see anywhere you talk about where your are transferring money to and from. Other options include Xoom and Epassporte. Xoom is much cheaper than WU, and does not limit the number of transactions from what I've seen. Epassporte is one of the companies who allow businesses, or individuals to setup accounts, have Visa Debit cards for withdrawing funds, and you can transfer between accounts. The biggest challenge is getting everything setup.
