We're introducing Student.com Radio this week

    Hey there. I'm the person in charge of Student.com, which is a popular community/social networking site for students. We're launching Student.com Radio this week, a commercial free online music station. We know that tons of our users, and students who use similar sites, are already listening to music while they surf our site. What we'd like to do is bring the level of interactivity on a social networking site like ours up to the next level so that our users can become real active participants in the radio station. User voice clips supplement the college djs who are djing. I hope you'll think it is an interesting concept and worth checking out. We're the first major site like this to have a college type online music station as part of the main site. Thanks.

    Hey there, Alex. I'm so glad you like our site! I hope you are also enjoying the new radio station. I do enjoy dp. The reason that I have so few posts in this place is that I'm a tech idiot and have too little to add. But it's definitely helpful and interesting here.

    I know it used to be studentcenter.org but im not sure how they got student.com , i dont think anyone would let it expire ;)

    Yeah, we were originally studentcenter.org. Long story as to why we started out as a .org instead of a .com. And since the story isn't very interesting, I won't tell it.:) The original company of student.com crashed and burned during the big internet bust and we were lucky enough to buy the name cheaply. That was our lucky break.
