I am going to be looking for a someone to design a site for me in the next few days and I was wondering if anyone could suggest were I start looking? I want a nice flash portfolio site. Can anyone tell me how much I should expect to pay. I would like a flash site similar to this one (which I really like):

    http://www.templatehelp.com/preset/pr_preview.php?i=17983&pr_code=7wQG432qZvwGA6CpyP37FE7w9g42Q5

It states that I can buy the for template for $120 or "unique price is $4,800".

Can someone please explain the difference? Does unique mean that they will customize it specifically for me, changing everything I want and adding all my content? If so, can I just buy it for $120 and pay a flash developer to customize it for me instead?

    Thanks for your help!

By Unique they mean The Template will be sold only to you.You will be the only owner of the template. There for it will not be sold again to anyone else.

To correct what Clipixxx said: You will not be the only owner of the template... Unique means you are going to be the last person to buy it from their site. That still means that the people before you are going to have it. Not only that, but if the designer opted to have it listed on other sites, it will remain up there also. I suggest getting the template, making a copy, and seeing if you can't edit it yourself, it really isn't as hard as you would think. As for paying someone to customize it, I am sure you could find someone for $30 - $40 since it is such an easy job.

Thank you guys for your feedback!

So I guess my only question is... If I buy the template do I have full rights to change all aspects of the site (swap out icons, add my own content, rework some of the pages, change the music...)? If so, can I find a flash developer to do that for me? How much should I expect to pay to have a developer completely rework the site and help me make it mine (assuming I do all the design work)...?

Yes, you have the right to do whatever you please with that site, as long as you do not resell or give out the template. I am sure giving the template to your flash designer will be fine... Hmm price wise, it really depends. I am not sure exactly how much you are looking to change, but it could range from $30 - $120 range. I really would not pay more than $120 for someone basically editing a template (assuming you know exactly what changes you want). It is the template that is usually the hardest part for the designers, not the tweaking of the site, which is what it sounds like you wanna do. Post this over at the flash section of DP and I am sure you will get some people desperate for work. They often do quality work, but are just looking to make some extra cash, so they don't usually charge to much. Now if you expect the designer to make you icons, rearrange the pages extensively, or do anything else that is above the simple task of a flash designer, you are probably going to start getting up more into the $150-$200 range. Good luck finding a flash designer!
