I was in the Top 3 for more than a year when searching for my main keyword, usually #1 or #2, depending on the day. Then at the end of July, Google changed something and I started dropping places in the results. I panicked and started reading since this keyword alone was bringing me 50% of my traffic in those days. Did the usual recommended changes and nothing, I kept dropping until I ended up on page 60-62 where I've been stuck for the past couple of months I tried everything, even a redesign at the beginning of October and nothing. So I decided to use other keywords and methods to bring traffic to my site instead of only depending on this one word. Things have started to get back to normal but I'm still trying to get back in the top 3 or at least the first page. I know it would bring me lots of new visitors. The weird thing about this is that ALL my other keyword are fine, it only affected me for that one word. Also, the two other sites that were always in the Top 3 with me WERE NOT affected by this, they're still up there. But the worst part of all, is that there are tons of sites simply talking about my site or with a link to my site that show ABOVE me in the results?!?! Any ideas or tips or thoughts on this?
They generally jump over you, due to more website traffic. Page rank is everything when you get in the top 10. Page rank takes a lot of time. If you have a product/service to sell, you need to upgrade your web traffic to expose you product/service. I get about 7,000 hits every day from a professional group. I purchase the best quality visitors to hit me 7,000 times EVERY DAY, and yes I get sales. Not only that, the person that I purchase from is a terminal cancer person, who get a percentage of each sale for himself. I feel good knowing that I can increase or maintain my sale, and help out a terminal cancer person. Lots of luck!
Well, my site is a picture gallery and lots of very original developers came out this year making almost exact copies of my site. Not the exact same content but the exact layout.
I get around 12K uniques a day and have displayed more than 12 million pages in the last 30 days (12,232,664 to be exact). So traffic is not a problem here I know I have more traffic than even some of the sites that are still in the top 5...
Another person in this forum topic has a similar problem. He dropped out of the top 300 for just certain keywords when he was in the top 30. He had this happen about 4 months ago, which is about the end of July. So I'm guessing there was some kind of Google algorithm update around that time that slapped certain sites out of their ranking position, but just for certain keywords. If you tell us the url and specific keyword we may be able to help more.
