Went from 2 Million Alexa to 900k in 3 days

    As your rank keeps getting lower and lower, it becomes increasingly more difficult to maintain the spot. I believe, getting upto 150K should not be much of a problem if you really put in some hardwork but getting below that surely needs a lot of effort.

    • Talk about Alexa toolbar on your site
    • Download the Alexa toolbar on as many pc's as you can and put your site as the homepage
    • Spread your posts on webmaster forums (a lot of us use the toolbar)

    Etc. etc. :D

    My site get 1000s pageview a day and I am still at 200K...I dont know how to change this situation anymore...lol

    Encourage your visitors to install the Alexa toolbar. That it helps to create a better web and that it has many other advantages... Just think about some stuff you could tell :D

    Here is a brief explanation:
    *Alexa offers a free toolbar (like google toolbar etc.)
    *Alexa uses the stats from the toolbar to rank your site from high (worst) to low with 1 being the best.
    *So the more people who bisit your site with the toolbar installed the lower your rank will get.
    *This is not accurate. Those in the "industry" including webmasters, domainers, developers etc. are more likely to have the alexa toolbar installed and therefore each time they visit their own site or people from forums like DP SP visit their site they improve their alexa rank.

    So alexa rank can be manipulated to an extent. For instance you will never rank higher than google/facebook/myspace and thousands of other sites however you can get it down below 100k.

    How can you do this? Offer an incentive for your visitors to download the alexa toolbar (mentioned earlier in this thread).
    for forum owners offer an incentive to your forum members to download the alexa toolbar.
    I did this by offering VIP membership ($9 value) to my forum members and had about 50 members install the toolbar. My rank improved by a ridiculous amount!
