I'm helping her to get her own website. She spends a lot of time were she is bored waiting on my to come watch tv with her or go out and do something while I am working on my sites. She is intersted in what the big deal is.

So I'm helping her out by making her a website and letting her to majority of the blogging.

I started her on a wordpress blog because those are fairly easy to run. She is a very girly girl that is quite into fashion and whatever it is you girls always talk about lol. I actually snagged a great domain OfficialGirltalk.com (I think let me know if it seems good to you)

I am going to show her this thread the next time she is over and let her read through the comments so what I want from DP is for some tips she can read over. (Basic because again this is her first time even being envolved with websites, let alone promoting one.)

She is into sobby movies, poems, fashion etc. So what better tha to make her a site called officialgirltalk.

Her Websites link, The site I made for her to start out on.

Well, I think there's not many women on DP compared to men, so I'll give you a female point of view.
Heaven's above - that blog depressed me. If she really wants to attract visitors she needs to have content, the same as with any blog - a bit of vague wittering about boyfriends and some bad poetry posted in garish pink doesn't make it automatically interesting to girls.
Oh - and 'whatever it is you girls always talk about'? - that'll be politics, business, movies, celebrities, current affairs, family, careers, technology - seriously if she wants to follow blogs that make a lot of having a 'girly' outlook and still have some content, tell her to look at shinyshiny.tv and popsugar and the other 'sugar' sites for ideas.

Get rid of the pink. Bright pink with white and pale blue isn't an attractive colour scheme. Not all of us women are mad about pink.

Space out the posts. One a day is usually adequate.

Take advantage of the 'click here to read more' options that wordpress lets you use, so that you are able to only provide a snippet of ht post on yor main page if you want to. It makes it look more organised than a bunch of posts of different lengths.

Add some pictures. If you can't find anything relevant to the topic, then enen just something that matches the theme will help break up the wall of text.

Ok so the bright pink is perhaps a little bit bright. If you really want to get traffic, just blog about Britney Spears every week:eek:

I think the domain is great, the site colors don't bother me so much, but it's very bubbly... Personally, getting women and girls into this site might be a little difficult, but what do I know.

Keep adding good content, and maybe integrate a discussion forum. Your niche/idea or whatever you've got going isn't bad at all. Lots of depressed, whiny girls starving for attention..
