Hi fellow DP'ers. I have an eCommerce site that is no longer getting traffic since panda/penguin/parana blah blah.... What is the best way to bring in targeted traffic? So I am selling skateboards and accessories. Should I create a video for each product and post it to each product page and try to rank each video? Please help me with some advice. I guess I am starting from scratch ;-( Thanks in advance. Jim
Hmm if you have the products in stock i would actually suggest that you review one product each day and post them on Youtube, and embed them into your website, this way when anyone is looking for a product that you sell, they might google it and see the video, then they will look at your website and maybe purchase from you
For an e-commerce site AdWords and AdCenter is the only way to go. If you create quality campaigns with exact keyword matches I can't see why you wouldn't sell a few items a week. What I can't see is how you're going to sell anything if you just have organic traffic, mostly because people do not trust online stores they randomly find online. I've never bought anything from a store I've never heard about. However, I bought stuff from stores I found on Google in their paid ads section, even though they were some obscure stores. Visitors do tend to trust Google, Yahoo & Bing's paid ads.
I think that you should focus on paid marketing strategies like PPC! Beside Adwords you can make highly targeted campaigns with Facebook ads too. There are a lot of options to target like interests, age, male or female...
Have you considered writing a review and submitting to article directories? That is a popular and inexpensive way that usually produces solid results. PPC and all of the other suggestions above are great too.
Tapping social media network like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram will also prove to be advantageous in getting your products out into the world. Create a review of each on-hand product and promote it on your social media pages to get attention and gain traffic for your site.
As others have said -- your best bet is Social Media like Facebook and YouTube. You can post high quality pictures and then have s small budget and target a very select group of people in your campaign. This will grow you Facebook page very quickly -- and start bringing your site tons of Traffic.
I think you also need to assess your present situation. Look for your rankings on google for relevant keywords, analyze your current backlink structure and try to correct your mistakes that caused a penalty in your rankings. Majestic SEO is the best for this kind of analysis. Google webmaster tools helps too.
Ranking on YouTube with your products is a great idea. I'd also recommend looking up related popular instagram users, YouTube channels and Facebook pages and ask them if they'd like to make a post about your product. Maybe they'll do it for a free sample product or you can simply pay them a small amount of money for them to post an advertisement on their social media gateways!
