Hi All, It is only a short while which I have set up this site: http://www.IranScene.com Someone has shown interest in it .. How much should I ask for it? BTW, the site is not fully wound up it, still lots of stuff left to be added.
What is more interesting to me is that the site is not ranked yet and why should anyone want to pay any money for it in the first place?
maybe they see potential in it? Or maybe they are trying to rip you off. Some people will pretend to pay you - set everything up on their hosts - and then reverse the payment, and you end up with nothing. If they offer you something that sounds too good to be true, it it likely to be.
Yeah, I guess you are right, but I think selling sites comes down to how much traffic you are drawing in. Great to see you back btw - hope you are feeling a bit better
As it is what can be done to the site to make it more impressive? All comments/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
For me it's about 20$ if I would be interested in that niche. I think you could improve some mistakes in html, which appear with the first look on the page.
@rod: Did you ever hear about the W3C Validator? Try it. Maybe you want to set up a proper CMS for the website. I guess you should put in an article every few days, invest a lot of time into a really excellent on that's good enough for Wikipedia and in a few months you can get a bit more than only $60 for the website. BTW: Don't use underscores in the filenames, Google prefers dashes.
The design of the content is definitely my own (whatever is wrong with it as it's pointed out by some here is my own mistakes) and obviously the info about the history and places have been taken out of referrence stuff with a lot of it having been edited and rewritten. I don't see any other way of building a site like this - I mean I can't rewrite the history in order to be original, unless I twist it like The Warner Brothers did with "300"
Good answer. What I mean of course is if all the text are the history in your own words or just copied word for word from Wikipedia etc.
I have obviously used the facts/figures from sites like Wikipedia but have corrected their grammer into a better English format so it's basically a set of reprocessed data and more pertinent -- the site is aimed at visitors who woud like to learn a little bit of everything about the country and its people.
Nice site but if you'll gonna sell it by now having no traffic and revenue at all... price of a new domain registration + $20 for building the site is what you will get But the site has great potential so why not work on it first and consider selling it when it is established.
Now that you think "it's a nice site", I shall keep it - I am not being sarcastic, I mean it - what I have planned for it in terms of expanding the content, I tend to agree with you as regards its potential. And .... then when it's reached its potential may be The Warner Brothers pay a huge sum for it to put filters on the good parts and sell it to the Greeks for a profit
