I have a tech blog at cravingtech.com which is quite well established: PR4, Alexa rank of 45k, and I'm being sponsored by the big brands to review their tech products constantly. Traffic is around 100k a month (unique visitors).

Problem is, well, I can get around $800-$1,000 a month (a few hundreds from AdSense and Amazon) but I'm pretty much stuck (relying too much on sponsored posts). I know most bloggers can get much more than that a month with less traffic... wondering what advice can you give? Do I place my ads at the wrong place? Do I need more ads everywhere on the blog?
I barely earn anything from affiliate marketing, maybe I need a breakthrough in that area somehow?

    or tech niche sucks?

$1000 are just optimal for a 100k visitor blog. No problem with that...
