    Welcome to Kuwait

    * Local calls are free, so are water and electricity, so the most lighted, most car washed, street washed, house washed town on Friday mornings

    * No Tax exists

    * Petrol is cheaper than bottled water

    * Unqualified get more salary than Qualified

    * Show-off matters more than real quality & performance

    * Companies can kick away their employees without any reason

    * Wastas (recommendation) are more powerful than money

    * Cleaners and Tea Boys have more Wasta than officers

    * Watchman (Haris) has more rights than the Building Owner

    * Office boy & Drivers have more influence on Boss than Manager

    * Kuwait's climate changes so fast sometimes, within one hour you may see rain, dust storm, hot/humid/chilly weather

    * There's a place called Salmiya where narrow streets and pot-holes are no different than those of Bombay

    * All Egyptians own a Mercedes... from the 60s or 70s

    * Temperature in summer is 50 degrees C outside yet people take blankets indoors (excess aircon - free electricity magic)

    * You get hot water from the tap marked 'hot' and boiling hot water from the tap marked 'cold'

    * If someone can't earn money in Kuwait, he can't earn anywhere else in the world (same goes for driving)

    * Highway Lanes

    1st Lane Indians

    2nd Lane Egyptians, Americans, Europeans

    3rd Lane Pakistani & Arabs

    Emergency or Police Lane - KUWAITIS

    * A typical Kuwaiti family has minimum 5 children, 2 maids, 2 drivers, 2 cars and 1 GMC Suburban

    * In Kuwait, time goes very fast, Friday to Friday comes and you never know, its sooo fast

    * In addition to his annual vacation, every Kuwaiti has a one month paid leave - its called Ramadan

    * Everyone knows the phone number of Pizza Hut by-heart but no one knows the number of Police Station/Ambulance

    * Those are not aliens at the malls but girls with tons of make-up and boys with space age hairstyles

    * A hair saloon every 5 meters; a laundry every 10

    * Beauty Saloon in every building

    * Food/Grocery delivery to the car - all you need to do is honk

    * A Starbucks every 2km

    * A Shopping Mall every 5km

    * Getting license is slightly more difficult than getting a car

    TRAFFIC SIGNAL IN KUWAIT :

    * GREEN : Signal to go for Americans, Europeans, Indian & Pakistanis

    * YELLOW : Signal to go for Egyptians and Arabs

    * RED : Signal to go for Kuwaitis

    lol so damn true!

    Lol nice one...
    Well i like this one:

    "* Unqualified get more salary than Qualified"

    Btw i myself believe that it's better to pray God to count you among blessed ones and not in talented ones because i have seen so many talented ones serving the blessed ones :)
    Regards

    many other sources...
    1st and main is that Kuwait is one of the richest countries in the world (i guess it rank 2nd in term of oil reserve) the government doesn't need any money at all, in fact Kuwait is a giving country, they always help other countries with their crisis.

    2nd every and each person working or just living in Kuwait (like wife and kids) have to pay annual fees to the government for the residency these fees considered high (around 100 KD per year per person {$300 per person} even babies) so imagine a small family like wife and two kids that's a $1000 per year (without the father residency cost)

    3rd: Kuwait is a very small country with a population of around 800'000 Kuwaiti's and 2 Million foreigners (Arabs, Indians and others) so the government expenses is very less than any other country.

    enough resources and reasons? :)

    Very interesting post, wish you could have added some images. Best to enjoy your country now, never know what could happen tomorrow.

    That traffic lights reminds me off Hawaii:

    Green are for Haole (Whites and Visitors)
    Yellow are for Filipinos and other Islanders
    Red are for Hawaiian and Japanese

    So true.
