I have been working on my directory submissions this morning and came across something strange and I was wondering if the posters could tell me what's up? On about three of the directories I tried to submit to, the graphic that is supposed to help prevent automated registrations had six letters/numbers pictured, but the space would only accept five. This results in an Invalid code message every time. What's up with this? Is it a gimmick to get a paid rather than a free submission entry or just a software glitch?
Yes, that's what I thought. I would have listed which directories they were, but didn't want to give them a plug.
Theres a few that i found that happened in my list i used for my service, i ended up deleting them from the list because it was weeks and still had same problem.
PHPld messed up with there older free version and I had to manually go into the files and change it. I should probably contact them but forgot about it. Its strange that a directory owner wouldnt have noticed this though cause the first thing i do when i start any project is test. it ya know....
This has happened to me several times. It's a sign of either sloppiness or ignorance on the part of the directory owner, so it's probably not worth submitting to those anyway.
