    Hi Guys,

First off I hope this is the right section of the forum to post this under, if not please point me in the right direction.

I work for a small business and we track our traffic using google analytics and our CMS/CRM software. We launched our new ecommerce website a few weeks ago and have seen a steady gain in traffic through directory submissions, social networking, PPC advertising, affiliate programs etc.

I work in conjunction with the marketing manager to oversee these efforts and keep and eye on everything and up until now it has been calm and steady. This morning I logged in to check what sort of numbers we recieved overnight and to my surprise we had a MASSIVE influx of traffic from individual IP's. The bounce rate is sitting at roughly 93% and we are recieving roughly 3% of legitimate prospects from this traffic. We arent recieving any referel URL's so we are at a loss as to knowing where this traffic is coming from. We haven't paid for any traffic etc.

I was just wondering if someone could provide a bit of insight into where all this traffic is coming from. They are all coming in through one of our landing pages.

    All help is much appeciated!:)

It may be a traffic stream test where people are streamed through your analytics and their link is shown in the subdirectory structure of your site.

Referral log link building is a big black hat link building tactic regardless of your web analytics pagerank
