The situation is, that I made a ebook on the topic about dating months ago, but never really got to sell it or publish it on the web. Now i'm currently running a blog related to humor and entertainment, but want to use the ebook, to gain some more readers. What would the best to do this? I was thinking of just having my link in the ebook to my blog and give the ebook out for free, but then the readers who do click the link wouldn't be interested in my blog and would leave anyway. Or I can try changing my ebook, making it a bit humorous in parts and hope that would make it effective enough that it can fit in with my content? Whats your views on what I should do? The thing is, I spent about 2 - 3 weeks on the ebook, and I feel there is some potential for it as its more direct then other ebooks on the market, and would not just want it to rot in my HD or just publish it without getting anything back. Whats your suggestions?
I would suggest modifying the ebook so that it fits within your site's subject matter. You could then give it away as a freebie in return for collecting names and email addresses of the downloaders. That way, you can begin to build a list for marketing future products of a similar nature if you'd like. I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing you were looking for, but nevertheless it could potentially help make your efforts worthwhile.
In my opinion even modifying the ebook won't really attract the dating audience to your humor blog. I will advise on creating another site in dating niche and monetize it in a way, then you can put the link to your new dating site. It will take a lot of efforts but that's the route that will bring the best money for your efforts. Just my $0,02
