On McDar on some datacenters a site is showing up instead of my url (when I enter mine). This reminds me of when I was page jacked, however, I viewed the site as google bot user in firefox and the links are pure html, looks clean, doesn't go through a redirect or anything. Is this just something weird with McDAR? It is showing up on about 1/2 the datacenters @ 600+ (during this current update) and the other DCs are showing my site as #4 with correct URL. It seems more and more are propogating to the #4.
Did you check the normal SERPs with site: command? You better make sure this isn;t showing across the board else soon you might find yourself in deep crap.
In the site: command on google.com and DCs that show the other URL everything is normal. What the hell is going on, is it McDAR error?
Post or PM me the url. I have been looking at a bunch of strange stuff Google is showing the last day or so, I am wondering if it is related.
This happens to me sometimes too when I search a particular term. A site that is linked to me contains the www address in the link. I think the tool just looks for the pattern www. your site .com and when it finds that, it will count it.
This is a correct assumption, flyguy! The tool is searching for the url entered. If that url appears in the snippet of another site before your actual site appears in the serps, that is the site returned. You can overcome this glitch sometimes by entering your url like this - www.mysite.com/ (add the "/" to the end of your url). Caryl
Thanks mcdar. I was also facing same prob. But when a page which has my URL, appears above my site, does it mean my site has some sandbox effect or negative effect?
Ahh thanks, that is what was happening then. Scare me for a while and thought I was getting page jacked again.
