Weird Scenario - Can Someone Explain??

Hello my name is Pasha, I have a mature website (around 4 years old) with decent rank (4), thousands of pages indexed and lots of one way links pointing to it.

I added some 50 pages with dynamic content that changes daily, and in about 2 weeks from that moment 95% of them were already indexed and were in top 20 to 80 results in G (depending on the page).

2 weeks later I started to build back-links for all of the new pages by submitting related articles to some 500 article directories. Nothing fancy, 1 article for every 3 keywords - around 20 articles all together submitted one per day.

The SERPS steamed up and I begun ranking between top 2 to 25 results for the same keywords in a month.

2 weeks later I decided to repeat the article submissions (different articles) but this time, I submitted 2 per day. - around 20 articles all together.

Now 2 weeks after I finished my submissions I noticed that 60% of the keywords lost 2 to 3 positions in SERPS (Meaning went from lets say number 8 to 11).

5 days after that 95% of the keywords were removed from SERPS OVER NIGHT, the other 5% lost their ranks by 10 to 15...

The strange thing is that the pages WERE NOT completely removed from G - the URLs are still there, and the G continues to spider ALL of the removed from SERPS pages on daily basses. (catch is updated every day)

Any clues what is happening? Or how should I deal with this?

    Thanks a lot in advance.

google was indexing your pages and assigning you SERP based on what the bot gathered based on previous indexing. you were riding up in rankings. when 2 weeks later you submited another 20 articles, G started to index all those and track the backlinks which caused its algo to rethink for the ranking with all the new backlinks. it happens and nothing to worry about. your site will start showing up again soon in SERP unless there is something spammy

Maybe a Google rollback, if not then (maybe) Google are tampering and it has triggered a flaw. I'm not sure!

Better to give it a few weeks to let the dust settle.

Thanks a lot for the replies, - It does mean a lot!

The strange thing is that Only the new pages got affected, while the old pages have not moved a bit and continue to be stable.

I mean the site is fine, I only have the problem with those 50 new pages :(

PS: the site is www.drumsoloartist.com, if that matters.

Anyway thanks again, I will give it a couple weeks than.
