Weird - relevant ads

I am having problems getting relevant ads displayed on my site. The site is www.x-rates.co.uk ..... i am trying to get personal loans adsense displayed (not that you would have guessed it eh?!!)

The site actually redirects to http://www.ell02.com/loans.htm which is showing the desired ads perfectly

So how come they show fine on that url but don't on the actual url?

I'll take a stab: Google uses the keywords it finds in the url as part of determining relevancy. Since your second site has the word "loans" in it, it gets the relevant ads.

That page is violating the TOS on several counts, if your earning any decent money from Google you should seriously consider if you want to do that.

I have found the ad bot rates the keywords in the url highly. I guess it uses them to choose the ads untill it gets a chance to spider the page properly.

    Then explain this one:

Check my recent blog entry. That defaults to www.clantt.com/carinsurance/ the ads that are displayed there (the ad links) have cycled through Defensive Driving, Car Safety, Spyware Removal, the DMV, and a bunch of others. In the past, it had always shown ads related to purchasing car insurance.

If you visit http://www.clantt.com/carinsurance/2005/05/newfoundland-bans-car-insurance-rates.shtml (direct link to my latest entry) you will notice the correct ads.

I've resorted to one blog post to make absolutely sure that the correct ads would display on both the root for the blog and the actual perm link entry. I've been working with Google in order to resolve this issue, but alas I cannot.

That account will be closed by the end of the day. A blatant violation of the AdSense TOS

    Lol...Its even worse now

You cannot ask people to click on AdSense !!!

I would get some content on that page if you don't want it to be shut down.

As a publisher, I don't mind the way its set up because in the end you are still sending good leads but its Google's opinion that really matters.

I would give the TOS a good read because it can be near impossible to get your account back if they drop you for a legitimate reason

I would say the site's still in violation of AdSense TOS as none of the links work! Except the adsense links, of course ;)

    I didn't notice that, definately a problem.

It also still need some content. You can't build a site strictly for AdSense according to the TOS so although it is getting less blatant, its still in violation
