I cant figure this out, maybe someone here can help me...

Basically, if you type this into Google: link:www.gamersthrone.com

...it shows a bunch of results of pages that are linked to gamersthrone.com

This is odd because there are a BUNCH of results that show up from www.ewriting.pamil-visions.com* that do NOT contain links to my website. Also, if I use a black-link checker these pages are showing up as well. They are also showing up on Yahoo Site Explorer.

How is this possible if these pages do not contain a link to my website?!?!? What is going on?!?!?!

Maybe they're hotlinking images from your site? I don't know if Google tracks that or not, but it's the first thing that came to my mind.

Or a possibility is that you had a backlink on those pages but that it does not exist anymore.
It can take some time before Goolgle updates the backlink results

Were there many links? You may have been a victim of Google Bowling. It's an old one and not as effective as it used to be, but someone may have tried to get a strike

Someone did that to me about 4 months ago. It didn't work, and I'm 90% sure it was a dmoz editor (allegedly) from this forum.

A few weeks ago I looked at my "External Links" in Google Webmaster Tools and there were a couple hundred. Today I checked and there were almost 3,000!!!

I figured out what is happening (I think). Tell me if this makes sense, but first take a look at this screenshot. That is a snapshot of one of my pages under "External Links" in Google Webmaster Tools. Notice they are all fandomania.com/***

...well guess what?! I made a comment on this fandomania blog not too long ago on an article they had about a video game. But I only made a comment on just one article, not 100's!

Now pull up any one of their pages, like this one for example and notice about 1/2 way down the page on the left side. They have a "Recent Comments" box.

My name (which is listed as a link if you included your URL when you submitted the comment, which I did) at one point in time obviously had to be showing up on their blog under "Recent Comments" after I had made my comment. Google must have been indexing the pages while my comment was being shown under "Recent Comments".

This is probably what happened... do you agree? So after a while all these links will disappear I'm guessing.

Is this bad? A lot of these links are showing up on pages that have NOTHING to do with video games... those links arent relative to my website.

Do you think Google compensates for blogs that use "recent comments" on every single one of their pages?

    Should I be worried?

It is not weird, but i quite common. Plz see that near the footer the website has recent comments lists with name of the author and link to the URL he gave. If you ever commented on this site your Name and URL would have appeared there hence search engines indexing that link.
But, as soon as new comments are made by other users your comment vanishes from list, but SE does take time to notice it.
It is being done by most of the bloggers to make people comment on their sites.

OKay, so yeah that's whats happening. But some of these "temporary links" are from pages that have nothing to do with my website, so they arent relevant. Would that be a problem as far as page rank and that kind of stuff?

I have the same problem but I think it will work itself out over time after a few more people make comments that knock yours on down the list. That's what happened to mine.

IMO, I really think that those pages linked to your website in the past and Google just counted them as backlinks ;)
