Received a payment today for a service i've provided and then my paypal account showed some kind of limitation. They only ask for this: Photo ID Waiting for your response Proof of Address Waiting for your response And they say i CAN: What can I do while my account is being reviewed? * receive payments * add funds by an electronic funds transfer * send or request money * withdraw funds from your account What the hell is this? Why do they need my photo and proof of adress? And why do they let me use my account? Weird isn't it? They first said were gonna call me, but not received any call until now. I've provided all information, how long should i wait until my account is back to normal? Sorry for all the questions.
As long as all of the information is accurate and OK, it should only take a few days from them to review it and restore your account. They do these when a transaction or some action on an account trips a fraud preventing filter and they decide they need to verify the seller to make sure that everything is OK. Is this a new account? Other things that typically do this are large increases in volume, or large transactions, or withdrawing a large amount from the account all at once.
I didn't sold anything. It was a payment for a service i provided. Old 2005 verified account and the amount was not so big, under 200 bucks payment received... Weird things is that i can do EVERYTHING at my account. LOL Withdraw and everything... And they only required my photo and my proof of adress. Beats me why do they want that. EDIT: Just got an email from paypal saying this: So they need my photo and proof of adress to make sure i'm not laundering money? LOL
No, they need that data because, if they find out later that you're actually laundering money, then they will already know who you are and get to you before you know... Or at least that should be the idea. The whole point is: how can they tell if the validation data is accurate?...
My limitation is not really a limitation... I can do everything in my account, yesterday i've received and made payments. I can also withdrawn money. I guess it depends on the user. With me paypal is being quite liberal. LOL Still no word from them though. :/ EDIT: Just called them... Looks like they just asked for this information so that when i reach the amount of 2500€ ( i believe ) in received payments, than they will review my information. In the meanwhile i'll just have to ignore all the emails and the warning at my paypal account. Boringggggggggggggg
Jarodboy - can't call them. Right now my financial position is very bad. I don't hafve money in my gsm My wife too. Mother of my wife too..very very bad for me...even can't call them.(
Of course you can... Just download voipstunt or voipbuster and use the trial free calls. That's what i did.
Jarodboy - ok mate..thanks..After download program how to setup?how much time i can talk with paypal for free?
good choice rather than paying a regular phone, it seems that Paypal is obeying the laws on money laundering on every country where law on money laundering applies
I'm from Bulgaria..and i can't call them for free. "Free calls are limited and only valid for landlines in destinations marked as free." I'm not in the list country which are free(
Have you tried calling the number the provide in the email? It doesn't matter where are you from, it only matter where are you calling to... I made that free call, that is why i'm asking...
You can't do phone to phone! Don't you have phones and mic at your pc? Call through your computer and it's free...
They have limited my account a month ago.. due to exams I didn't sent the details. will they remove limitation if I do all that now.. And thanks for the tips for free calling.
You should check to see what type of action that you must do to remove the limitation. More then likely, they will remove limitations after you can complete the necessary steps.
They are asking for ID, Add proof(Utility Bill) and Bank A/c Statement. But the thing is, they have written on Resolution page that I should complete these steps within 7 days, otherwise they wont be able to review. What about the time.
