so out of no where i get these weird folders that are empty in my external hard driver, i get around 5 folders with random names such as fa8cfc6a7c1acf046aee13 i delete them but do you guys know how they appear and why? thanks
In my experience, these folders are created when windows updates downloads and installs software from windows update. As far as I know, it's safe to delete them. Not sure why they're being created on your external drive though.
If they're showing up in the root, that's probably spyware. If it's under C:\Windows, that's probably Windows Update. Might be another program too...is there a correlation between what you run and when they show up? If they show up randomly, or when nothing is running...might be spyware too.
you know im not really sure when these folders appear, but i will have my eye on it and see if its something i do that creates them or its random, but for what i know so far its random and only in my external terabyte HD
