Hi, I've had a blog for some time and I started ADSENSE on it 3 months ago. I've been making about $30-$35 daily. Then, on last dec 20th, I made $80.00. The following day, $120...and then, until this present day, the earnings lowered to $18.00-$20.00 daily.. Any idea of what may have caused this strange behavior? Thanks!
Depends on the niche of the blog. Maybe AdWords publishers increased rates? If the earning streak lasted 3-5 days, it was probably an increase in CPC.
Seems that your account has been smart-priced. If you don't know what is that, take a look at this article: http://www.jensense.com/archives/2005/10/one_poorly_conv.html
It might be simple X-mas ramp up. Many advertisers push a lot of money into that season, so last weeks before X-mas in average you can earn more money then other days. And once X-mas happened and New Year budget/new campaigns not approved yet - it's a ramp down. Of course it depends from a niche your site topic in, but I see this pattern almost everywhere during several years. Just wait till a mid of January and everything should settle to a "normal" value.
on those 2 days where your earning was higher, you just had high paying ads served on your site. could be advertisers were spending more due to holidays
Same thing happen to me during entire month of dec. I made highest of my adsense earning of 297 $ but now its back to its orignal I am strugging much harder to get back to that place.
It depends on your niche too. If you write about something that could be somewhat seasonal you can anticipate lower earnings. Also if you get a lot of traffic to your main page and the article that got you the high paying keywords gets pushed to page 2 (assuming a blog) then your ad revenue can go down.
