Hi, something pretty weird is happening, I have an ad showing for a two words phrase, (in an all U.S targeted campaign) this phrase is not a part of my keywords, the keywords I've entered include this phrase, but always with an additional keyword, its like that my ad would show for the term "pizza restaurant", although my keyword are ONLY: "joey pizza restaurant" "joey restaurant" "joey pizza" - but somehow the ad is showing for "pizza restaurant" also... how come?
yes there are (the case is not really pizza restaurant, its just an example) there are about at least 10 more ads showing, and if my ad is showing for a phrase I didn't asked for, does it count somehow in my impressions, so it can make my CTR go down (because the ad is not highly relevant for this general phrase - that's why I didn't list it)
what match options have you set your keyphrases for - broad, phrase, exact? If it's broad - that's why it's showing. (If it's broad, which is now expanded, it's probably also showing for Claire's Tea Shop *not a fan of broad match*)
expanded broad match is pure theft. "User experience" = "expanded broad match" These things surely go hand in hand. Google is such a two faced company.
I think it's the broad match...LOL Seriously though, their broad match is awesome for them, crappy for the user who is trying to make any money. I had a long discussion with my google rep about this one time. Her arguement was to just put "blue widgets" in broad match, while I insisted that if I manufacture every variation of "blue widgets" I will pay less per click and still get the same coverage. She couldn't understand why I would go through all that "extra" work when broad match would cover it. They just have zero clue about affiliate marketing and how affiliates actually try to make money using their system.
somehow I missed your reply But seriously, you don't have to get all pissy about it, who died and put you in charge anyway
You can also include negative keywords if don't want to your ads to show up for these kind of keywords.
