OK I may be a greedy pig here but so what. I signed up and validated my site and all went well. I got a weight of 89,000. Then a day later, I noticed that I forgot to add the co-op php code to a PR5 page. I did so and re-weighed. Still showing 89,000. Is this an upper limit or something?
Yes - there are caps - not sure what they are, or why they are there - maybe someone else can elaberate.
"Is this an upper limit or something?" Yes. The cap is based on PR of your main page. (Also, adding the code to an individual page won't help your weight. The network assumes that you had put the code on ALL pages. If you missed a page, the network just didn't catch it originally, but it will eventually.)
Crew has it just about correct. The validator only checks a sampling of the pages, so it was assuming your PR5 was already carrying the ads. The only point of difference I would make is that if it does catch that one of your pages is not carrying the links, you can just hit revalidate and if only some rare pages where not carrying the ads, chances are it would validate fine Eric
I don't think so LinkBliss. I had missed a page and everytime I validated it errored. Then I finally read the error and fixed the problem. Once it finds a bad page, it will watch it like a hawk until it's set up properly.
I wish the caps would be increased or disappear all together... I think the co-op is big enough now that we don't need them anymore.
I don't understand why people have a problem with the cap. Removing the cap would end up hurting more people than it would help, I'm sure.
My weight would increase significantly as well . At the moment i couldnt think of what to do extra with it. Target more keyphrases, dont thinks so there is a limit in ads. To much weight on one keyphrase doesnt work as well. I would had to sell the extra weight or build me a new website to handle all the new extra weight when the cap would be removed. PS. Fryman any chance you are going to change your avater back to normal. Those sunglasses hurt my eyes.
Yes, removing the cap would give me a million weight as well. I feel the whole concept of coop is designed well by Shawn. The bets thing, that's it's free, is amazing. I am sure even if Shawn introduces, $5 per website, monthly subscription for using coop, he will have tons of money. Shawn, don't read this, this is not meant for you to read
