My sites weight went dropped from around 6,000 to 252, without any changes except adding a few pages. I still have 159 pages in google and a pr. 5 on the homepage. Any ideas why this may have happened?

One of my sites went from like 18,000 to 0. Nothing's changed either. I managed to get it back by modifying my URL slightly (adding a tailing slash) and revalidating. Weird.

The API only shows 7 indexed pages for you. My guess is that it had more before the revalidation.

Hi everyone, new here. I have a little over 7,000 pages indexed with google with a PR5 homepage, and my weight is 4,500, I have 1 ad showing per page. Does that sound weak or is that pretty standard?

Also, I've heard that having a ton of backlinks shop up all at once kind of freaks Google out so I thought I would start with one text link at the bottom of each page on my website and build up to 5 at the bottom of each page over time. Is this being paranoid? If not, what kind of time frames should I wait between adding text links?

    Thanks in advance.

Well without knowing the url - with a PR 5 over over 7k indexed pages and 1 ad your weight should be higher. My guess is that most of those pages are supplemental pages but don't know without knowing the url.

Mine dropped too, PR5 with around 3500 indexed in Google with 5 ads showing. Dropped to 9000 or so from 60K. I think it may just be in the process of updating...I don't know.

I think it might have to do with the redirect I have on the frontpage. The system will not let me validate "www.mags4cheap.com" but will let me validate "http://www.mags4cheap.com/catalog/index.php."

Anything I can do about this?

rbfallon - it looks like there is a redirect that may be affecting your weight. I think the validator will use the characteristics of the folder it redirects to. In your case, I think that folder is a PR3 where your root domain is a PR5.

    kepa - what's the url.

I've only been co-op since just before Xmas and I've noticed that some days, even when Big G indexes my new pages and ups its count, revalidating my site in co-op will drop me to zero.

I revalidate... revalidate... wait a long time... ... revalidate again... still nothing. I leave it 'til the next morning and BANG it's up again. And some more :)

I'm used to it now, so patience is the key here

Tried it with " http://www.mags4cheap.com/catalog/" and that helped. Now it shows all 7,000 indexed pages, but with a PR3, my homepage is a PR5....making progress though.

I have 301 redirect to get it to the /catalog/index.php if that helps.

My weight also dropped massively, from 54,000 to 7,000 but it was a subdomain if that helps.

Shawn - Perhaps my question is a little more unique, I cannot find anyone has had this problem. I have a 301 redirect on my server that takes "www.mags4cheap.com" (PR5) to "www.mags4cheap.com/catalog/index.php" (PR3). The ads are showing on my home page which is a PR5, but I'm not getting credit for it.

I know you're a busy guy, but any help you can offer would be appreciated.

    Thanks.
