Weight Formula Changed

wow... i am so lost... the formula changed has messed up my judgement on weight. but i guess simply thinking about it as factored by 10 helps.

dropped by about 10x too.

 

My weight was capped before the weight recalc. and since the cap was removed, as far as I can tell, my overall impressions are going down. It's still rather hard to determine at this point since there are different factors that could cause that. Still early to tell if it's helped or hurt me yet.

 

When running my daily keyword rankings, today I significantly dropped on all of my co-op keywords (from top 3 to under 50). My numbers do not usually fluxuate more than 2-3 positions, so this is really unusual.

Could this be related to our new weights? Is it just a reporting number, or did we also lose incoming links?

Anyone else notice ranking changes?

I actually have had some rankings drop as well.

 

Severe ranking drops with me as well, some up to 80 places.

 

IM down 8000 ad impressions per day.. since the change
this is REALLY BAD.
and all my sites are losing impressions

yup... all my rankings have dropped... except those in msn. some by alot (30-40 places) some by 1 or 2... some have fallen out altogether (that's probably normal)

 

Still dropping for me. Looks like i'll have to stop running some ads and focus my weight on fewer words.

 

Just a number for ease of reference. Similar to a currency.

Unless you dropped in quantities of ads shown on your sites you won't drop beyond regular flux in ads back to you.

I only see ranking improvements but obviously don't rely on the Co-op for this.

Yeah but impressions entirely depend on the luck of being displayed on a high traffic page. Impressions aren't really a reliable reporting mechanism. Weight isn't based on impressions and views so you don't get either back neither.

 

well Tops, that would make sense except most of my stats look like that - or show little change at all. Shouldnt some of my 20 ads show increases?

 

That might be what you expect but it simply doesn't work like that. With the caching it can happen that all your ads are on low traffic pages for 3 days. Bad luck. That's why you see peaks and throughs all the time.

My weight went down from 67.000 to 19.000 after the weighting formula changed... I took the hit like the rest of us.

But today my weight went down to 6.700 and many of my rankings for the Co-op words are falling like rocks.

I honestly hope the lost of ranking positions doesn't have a relation with the new formula. This would be really bad.

if the total weight hasn't changed then it stands to reason that there must be some people who are benefitting... its just the people worse off who are more vocal =) right?
