Hmm, ok... thanks. That just seems very dramatic.

Yes that is quite drastic. One thread on SEO chat claimed to see roll back to December numbers. This may have nothing to do with your situation but could be a possibility.

I'm not showing any difference in my BLs anywhere, though... where are people seeing this trend?

make sure you are checking your BL stats though an api tool same thing happened to me my visible BL on the webpage was double it's previous count but then when I checked in the api it was 10% of what it shows on the page. This tool uses the api so it's best to use an api tool g-metrics.com is really good someone else mentioned it to me when I had this problem.

I thought the co-op weight was based on PR and indexed pages and not backlinks.

    Bassman -
you're not alone - gone from 32K to 7.5K on indexed pages.
I'm puzzled aswell - let me know if you figure out what is causing the effect.
    :)
    cheers

My weight just dropped from 54k to 13k. Shawn's keyword tracker shows an increase in indexed pages and the PR is the same.

Bassman, how long did it take for your weight to go back to its original level?

Does anyone know the impact weight fluctuation has on the distribution of ads? i.e., take my example where I just went from 54 to 13, how long before the lower weight will effect the number of ad rotations I get in the network?

I know I shouldn’t obsess over this so much. I could get a lot of work done if I wasn’t constantly checking my backlinks, weight, indexed pages, SERPs, logfiles, and transactions. As they say at the Sopchoppy River Swamp poker game – “you get what you got, play your cards or run the bush hooks”

I should have left it alone. I just revalidated and got:
The ads are on the page - www.classifiedads.com . So I've gone from 54k to 13k to 0k.

    Anyone have a suggestion?

I have seen that happen on a few of my accounts. It usually comes back in a few days. With google so screwed up lately one data center can return off the wall results to dp and your co-op weight plummits, but that data center will get back to normal and everything will be fine. Sometimes it just takes a few hours.

    TOPS,

That's what I thought so I changed the API to another one I have that has not been used today.

The error message on the validation screen says

Something very strange is going on on your website. The source code doesn't match the output in the browser.

I see this in the source code:

    <td height="20" align="center" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" class="swhite"><font face="Verdana" size="1"> <a href="http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ad-network/?s=2506">Advertise here for Free</a> |

      | <a href="http://www.store-directory.org/us/">Shopping Directory</a> | <a href="http://www.logo-portal.com">Mobile logo</a> | <a href="http://www.schlender-ringmappen.de">Ordner</a> | <a href="http://www.all-cerebral-palsy.info/">cerebral palsy</a> <br>

    <br>

     </font></td>
    Code (markup):
    But I get these ads:

Try updating your ad_network.php and also see if all your pages are still indexed. I mean, do they show descriptions for all indexed pages ?

TOPS, You are correct, something really strange is going on.

There have been no code changes to the site for at least 6 days (since before SES in NY).

BUT. . . something is definitly not working right.

I didn't know there was a new script (_187) until now and I just tried to update to it and it didn't work AT ALL execpt that the _187.txt file does get populated with ads.

I reloaded the old scripts so the network will at least get the benefit of the exposure until I can get the programmers to fix it in the morning.

I'm sure it's some problem on my side but I have no idea what could be causing it to suddenly stop working.

    Damn. . .

    Thanks for the assistance. .
