    Hey all,

Just read a few of the newer posts regarding this but thought i'd post anyway.

My weight's dropped from 48,000 to 28 over the period of like... 4 weeks.

What's going on..... and eerm, will we see any improvements over the next week or so? surely coop didn't rely on G THAT much?

After a week i'm pulling coop from my sites and i'll check the forums for improvements in the future.

Does anybody know of a DECENT similar program (pyramid isn't good, don't go there)?

Are you loosing impressions or clickthroughs? From what I have read on another thread is that most (if not all coop users) have seen this decrease and if this is the case then your impressions shouldnt be changed. I currently have a weight of 10 and a few months back I think it was xxxxx.

See how it goes and see if you notice any decrease in actual click throughs to your site.

See all the other threads in this part of the forum for an answer to your first question.

As far your second, Link Vault is the only comparable one (In quality and trustability)

My click-throughs appear to be pretty much the same, obviously this will be the case for a short while as people still have my sites links on theirs. It's the amount of weight you have though that reflects the amount of links in those sites therefor it will surely have a nock-on effect? If my weight has dropped, my impressions will drop and then the click-throughs too right?

I have, that's what worried me lol :(

Link Vault it is then :D

    Clearly. Shame.

No, its the amount of weight compared to others.

ie. If everyone had 500,000 - everyones links would be ditributed evenly

If everyone dropped to 10 - everyones links would be distributed evenly

despite the fact that 10 is way smaller then 500,000

Minstrel has made the point that everyone is not dropping (although only one person has said they haven't which is subject to validation) so its hard to tell at this point

Yes. One of these days Google will fix there crummy search engine.

BTW, I do have about 90 sites that have crashed in weight. I'm just lucky to have about five sites that didn't crash, or luckly gained weight.

If 90 sites crashed and only a few stayed the same, then overall you lost weight.

I don't see where the point is made... everyone has lost weight...

Just that some sites can increase in weight right now, or not be effected by this, though it can be rare, which is what minstrel is trying to say. Overall I went from around 500,000 to 100,000.

If those few sites were my only sites, then.... :D

Except statistically if 99% of the sites in the network dropped by the same percentage, most people will not see a change in impressions. I do agree that the few exceptions will really benefit but that may be dulled by the fact so many of their other sites were adjusted anyway.

Like I said, I'm just watching the impressions...If those drop for everyone (which isn't actually possible) then there would be a major issue.

If Google fixes the issue in the meantime, then great ;)

But for instance, I regained all of it. I passed from 50,000 to 0 and now I am at 50,000 again.

one of my sites is a PR6 with 384,000 current pages in google - just re-evaluated it and it stayed at 9. all my sites with good PR and thousands of pages dropped to below 10 in weight.

what is going on? it does not appear to be google

I suppose I should chime in by looking at the situation from a different angle.

Yes, if everyone had 500,000 weight the links would be distributed as evenly as if everyone had 10...however, the real disadvantage is that this correlates with the strength of the advertising Co-op -- what I mean by this is that long-term the impressions and temporary backlinks will fall. Yeah, it sucks, but Shawn is smart enough to know that making changes now to meet Google's current insanity isn't the best practice. If a better method does appear feasible (such as a weighted weight based on the big 3 engines), then we might see it; until then, hopefully this mess will have the positive note of helping SEOs realize there is a lot more to their jobs than DP/LV or any other network.

That said my various accounts shrunk from somewhere in the 500-600k range to about 120k...it'd be lower than 120k, but some sites strangely appear to be unaffected by the big daddy caching.
