I just noticed the most peculiar thing today on the coop network. My weight suddenly dropped to 0. There was no warning mail, no error on the site (it stated that ads appear to be live). However, the weight indicated was 0. After i hit the "Validate/Calculate Weight Now" button, the weight was back (but with a few points less than i had). Any idea wha's causing this? Could be a bug in the network?
I've hit recalculate weight regularly, a couple times per week (and sometimes 5X in a row just for fun). Once I saw it drop to zero, but it immediately came back when hitting recalculate. Also, once it gave me an extra 20% or so weight which immediately disappeared upon hitting recalculate, never to re-appear :-( I would chalk the brief zero up to Internet latency / hiccups I wouldn't imagine the Co-op Ad network is not designed with the redundancy and failsafes of say the DNS backbone (nor should it be). The extra 20% anomaly could have been a google datacenter fluke/fluctuation since it checks some things on google to factor into the weight determination. The advice I would give is to get and put in your Google API code so you can recalculate yourself. Eric
Every now and then the API returns 0 pages for a site...so the Network will still validate your site (and you don't get an email), but your weight is 0. The API used to do this more often but it's been alot better lately. This is something it would be nice to get an email about - if your weight was over 1000 or something, drops to 0, but still validated.
Yes, it would be nice to get a mail when these kind of drops happen.... The worst thing is that i found out this by accident! I used to have 64k weight and i saw my site dropping positions from google...... Imagine my face when i saw the 0 weight.....
Here to 0 weight was doing so well to. Its only my Vbulletin forum that has the problem though. I have a Php nuke site that has no problem. M4ck
I take that back I just checked again and both sites are at 0 now. wierd must be something wrong with the system surely both sites didn't just drop to 0. M4ck
