hiya, is it just me or has the weight calculation gone a bit iffy, mines just ditched from over 40k down to under 8k, just checked the inbound links / google listings etc, nothings gone down.

    Any ideas?

Most probably because when using the site: command with your site, it mostly returns supplemental results and non-indexed pages.

    Same here!

Mine has dropped from 65k to 27k! :( Whats changed? My PR has gone from PR5 to PR6 (all my inner pages have gone up too!) and my pages indexed has stayed the same (6,000).

    Help?

Nothing has changed with the weighting algorithm. Google has been more aggressively dropping pages it considers spam/duplicate content. I haven't looked at any of your sites, but if you think your site might have a lot of pages that could be considered spam or duplicate content by users, then you don't have anything to complain about. I think it's a good thing Google is doing.

    Hey

A similar thing happened to my site. [clixgames.com] You can see for yourself that it has a PR5, and Google shows 1,330 pages. I have 3 ads on every page, yet only 2,349 weight. Last week I was much higher. I know when I validated it again and it showed this amount the first time, Google was doing the PR because the site had 0, but it has since come back but validating again isn't showing the update.

Is it possible that Google is still updating? I know they have different servers and sometimes you'll see a different PR while they are updating, but could it be that it still hasn't finished telling all the servers..

Out of the 1,330 pages, G only thinks 360ish are worth mentioning.

Most of those 360 are shown with the "Supplemental Result" comment too. So in fact, you don't have that many recognised pages in the index at all.

Google is constantly improving their algorithms though (including ones that filter out content).
