Hi I just joined Digital Point and asked a friend to let me use his site as he got lots of pages indexed (i have none) We managed to validate the site but weight 0? What should we do? Help
More like...wait until Google get's off the pot!!! Or post the domain and we might be able to tell you why it has no fat!!
All but one PR2 page are showing as supplimental results (last cached in 2005) - most likely due to not having original content. There is also an issue with the google api right now and many other threads on this.
What do u mean by 'supplimental results' ? Hav eyou got example sites that you can show me which are not supplimental reults? Original content? what do u mean by 'original'? My friend did not copy it from anywhere else. So that means is pointless for me to have digital point ads on my friend's site? (I owe him a favor too)
Do a Google search for site:www.ebookpremier.com. The site command returns four pages of results on the data center I hit. Scroll down the first page. You find all these entries like the following ::: Audio Ebook Premier : World Internet Summit :::Watch The Space! 10 World Experts Coming together for the First Time...and the Last Time to reveal their guarded strategies on eBay selling! ... www.ebookpremier.com/eBay/eBaySales.htm - 59k - Supplemental Result - Cached - Similar pages It is my understanding that supplemental results do not count toward weight. I only see five pages in non-supplemental category. Weight is a function of page rank, in this case only 2, number of pages indexed that are not in supplemental category, and number of ads running on each page. At this time it does not appear this site is going to be a huge weight generator for you.
Thanks Smyrl. However, at the moment, I get weight 0 from the site though you said "At this time it does not appear this site is going to be a huge weight generator for you." So does that mean it is better that i don't use the site for weight generation? So if i have two choices 1) a site that has 0 pagerank, but about 50 pages are indexed (not supplemental results) 2) a site that has 2 pagerank, but only 1 or 2 pages aare indexed. Which site is a better option for me to have the Digital Point Ads on?
Wealthmastery, In my eyes there is no quick easy answer to your question. Many sites with huge amounts of weight have had their weight drop very low dues to something that is going on at Google. Some of the sites have had weight come back, others not. I would be tempted to leave the ads up and running until after the next pagerank update and see what happens. Hopefully the page rank of the site will go up at that time. I did not look at the site, only looked at page rank of homepage and the number of supplemental results but did see the word ebook which does not make me think this is a top notch site. If site owner has thrown together an ebook by copying a little here a little there ... there will always be a duplicate content problem regarding site and probably most of the pages will be supplemental. Building up weight in co-op is somewhat like building links to a site. There are those that say and link from a non-spammy site even one with page rank 0 is a good link for if site is good the page rank will improve over time. If your firiends site is really good it too will grow in pagerank and number of pages indexed over time and hence so will co-op weight. Good luck.
waelthmastery, From my experience of about 8 weeks with the COOP: I have about 2,000 pages indexed and a page rank of 5. This gives me a continually changing weight from 900 to approx. 2,000. Without any changes on the ads or the amount of indexed pages. No reason recognizable. What do I get back? Up to now some hundred ads per day on the COOP partner's pages that result in nothing (yet?). One of my websites with only 31 indexed pages and a page rank of 2 got a weight of 36 and does not profit from the COOP either. This site is called +- 350,000 times a day. That's a lot of ads the COOP is getting from me, isn't it? In fact I get a lot more from other ads that are displayed on this site (real $ profit of course) and I'm pretty mad about this. If the COOP's results continue to be like this I'm pretty sure to leave very soon. My resumee: Use the COOP if you are big and you'll become bigger. All others loose and help the big ones to become even bigger without a chance to profit from this system. That's especially true if you just have a small but valuable website and are not willing to increase the amount of pages just to get a better weight.
