I've just taken over an opensource search engine project. As part of the launch (starting next week) we've included a new paid directory. But before the real launch, I'm offering a weekend special here on DP to get things started. I'd like to give a bit back to the DP network, I want to get some listings in the directory before launch, and I'd also like to test before the official launch to make sure I didn't miss anything.

The directory is located at www.mozdex.com/directory. The site already takes about 500 visits per day (and even more than that are aware of the site because the site provides a free opensource search API, the API takes a lot of traffic). More importantly, the site is very well respected, check the backlinks to this site from .edu's and .gov's. As a result, you'll find this directory, even though it's new, to be one of the very best in the industry. And that's before we've even started our promotion.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    >>>Standard Listing

A Standard listing includes a direct link to your site and a brief description.Standard listings are $29.95 annually - this weekend only and only to DP readers, a standard listing is only $19.95 for the first year.

    >>>Enhanced Listing - content page

An enhanced listing includes a standard listing (brief description in a category) PLUS it includes a full page of your content. That content may include up to three links to your site. Enhanced listings are $49.95 annually, this weekend only and only to DP readers, an enhanced listing is only $29.95 for the first year.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can view the directory here:
    http://www.mozdex.com/directory

Please read the submission guidelines - original content sites only. Sites that are primarily MFA's, scraper sites or are too heavily affiliate will not receive a listing. We're looking for quality sites to list as it's our intention to keep this directory of value to visitors and and squeaky clean for the SE's. Remember that the fee is for the review and not the listing, and is not refundable.

If you're in need of some bulk submissions - 10+ sites, please PM me and we'll work something out.

Check it out - I think you'll agree that this is simply the best directory listing opportunity to come along in an awfully long time.

(Note - the pricing on the page shows the original pricing, not the discounted pricing. However when you click through to pay by paypal the correct, discounted DP pricing will be charged).

Submitted a site, but I'm not sure if it went through, as there was no confirmation message, and the form elements were still on the page, with this message on top: Kere 1 link type: freeListing

Does that mean the link was submitted?

Sorry about that - this is what I mean about testing :). We're going to be adding free listings for linux user groups and open source projects later, it looks like our developer did some tinkering late Friday afternoon and left some of that in - so the listings went into that area.

I've refreshed the submissions, please resubmit. I believe it'll work correctly now.

(and my apologies again for the double submission).

Thank you very much, appreciate the listing.

The basic software is site-sift, I've only mildly modified the layout.

Thanks mystik; I've replied to your PM.

The site currently uses alphabetical sorting. I've set it to that, well, because that's what made the most sense to me. And the most sense to visitors I think.

I expect the concern is whether people are going to end up on page 500 in a subcategory. I hope to be able to keep listings for subcategories to one page where I can, creating other subcats if necessary. But the directory's new and I'm new to directories so take that fwiw. I am attempting to balance a very SE friendly directory that passes link love, while trying to keep the directory friendly to visitors so that it passes some actual visitors.

And for those of you that care about these things (I don't normally do this, because I try to focus on quality, as misguided as that is), the homepage of this site is a PR6 the hard way (all natural backlinks).
