    I agree with MorgansMom.

That comment about cool things being out there sounds like it's coming from a loser. ;)

I don't think smoking pot makes you cool, it makes you weak for having to give into it and any other substances for that matter. Would be nice to see how these individuals handle life/stress/problems etc, not all drugged up.

I agree with you...weed and alcohol are both coping mechanisms that become a way of life. They are certainly both harmful to your health and that can't be argued.

Sometimes reality sucks, though. We all choose to cope with the stresses and pressures differently. ;).

I agree, those are better options. But in the reality of things, people like to escape and not choose those.

you guys, lets get a little more medical,

Alcohal inhibits gaba recepters in your brain and is also a nuero depressant and THC aka ....weed has more to do with soothing endorphins (Anandamide) similiar to the same endorphins affected by chocolate. To make it simple they both affect the brain in very different ways. Alcohal can kill you and weed cant. With alcohal you lose your social inhibitions hense anger.. loss of temper ect.

    Thank you,

Just like anything, you can either handle it or you can't. Knowing when you can't and being able to stop is what seperates the men from the boys.

However, because those that fall on their faces are "losers" in your example, it's really unfair to stigmatize those that can use in moderation and still be sucessful.

That's a cop out to try and bring those that handled it down to a losers lever.

Not cool! But again, nice try. :)

This is getting old, I can’t break these
    Chains that I hold
My body’s growing cold, there’s nothin
Left of this mind or my soul
Addiction needs a pacifier, the buzz of
This poison is taking me higher
This will fall away, this will fall away

    Lookin' for a run-in
    head out on the highway
    lookin' for adventure
    in whatever comes our way
yeah baby gonna make it happen
take the world in a love embrace
fire all of our guns at once and
    explode into space...
    like a true nature's child
we were born, born to be wild
    and we'll fly so high
    never gonna die...

Yeah... that was the song that coined the term "Heavy Metal":

    I like smoke and lightning
    heavy metal thunder
    racing with the wind
and this feeling that I'm under
yeah momma gonna make it happen
take the world in a love embrace
fire all of our guns at once and
    explode into space...

John Kay (Canadian by the way) and Steppenwolf... helluva band.

The song was written by Hoyt Axton... he envisioned it as a kind of ballad... Steppenwolf made it a rock classic.

I think that medical marijuana should definitely be legal. The sick aren't trying to catch a buzz or be rebellious (and so what if they were). They are just trying toget their appetite back. Radiation therapy can kill you if you get too thin. They're not trying to get high, they're trying to get normal!

took bloody ages to read through that lot.
Make it legal - to those who are capable of making an in.formed decision.
There's enough control in this world time we relaxed some of it.
As Minstrel said (lord knows how many posts ago) there is a lot of natural stuff (growing in many a garden) that is seriously very bad for you - hey guess what, want to smoke that - it's perfectly legal.
I have no doubt (in my mind) that most of this is all about money.
How much revenue would a Government loose in taxes if more people stopped drinking alcohol and started smoking dope ?
If you want to change what kids think about something - then educate them. But first please make sure the educators actually know what they're talking about.
POT in moderation will cause you no more problems than Alcohol in moderation. Use anything to excess and you're goin to give yourself problems. But hey guess what, the Governments would get a lot more in taxes from everyone drinking in moderation than they would from people smoking in moderation.

wow, 32 pages huh.. No one cares about your opinions, sorry to burst your bubble :p

No one is going to legalise it just because a DP member thinks it should be.

Now, lets all have a cup of tea and a nice spliff.
