    hi all,

i'm going to setup a website showing info / fotos etc regarding my upcoming wedding. Does any1 have any sample templates or ideas? I've had a look at a few sites but a little disappointed with them.

Also, should i go for php/css/xhtml (use everyday) with a sql server backend or is flash easy to learn (never really done much with it before) and integrate with a database backend??? Would like to use flash so can:
    a) learn it and
    b) i like wot it can do

    any ifo much appreciated

If all you are wanting to do is have text and photos, you could stick with a simple blog.

WordPress would give you the ability to post and add pictures. It also has a few great features built in like site search etc.

I would go with CSS for sure, stay away from Flash. Like missdanni said above - a blog would be excellent for many reasons (guestbook, guest interaction when perhaps you post updates on wedding plans, easy to post pictures, etc). If you are really good with CSS, use Wordpress. org to be able to skin the blog right into your website...

As for templates, you just have to find a look that you like... what are the wedding colors like? What sort of ceremony, atmosphere? Casual, Black Tie? Have you figured out your navigation?
    - How we met
    - About Him, About Her
    - Wedding Details
    - Guestbook
    - Pictures
    - Travel, Hotel Information

One tip - if you get a great domain name (like, www.janeandjohn.com) it is going to be super easy for people to find you on search engines because of that, and the content on your webpages if you do *not* do Flash. My opinoin would be to do the site in CSS/HTML and maybe do a cool Flash integration on your Pictures page.

    Hope this helps!!
