    A few quickies:

    Too much scrolling required (home page). Tighten it up a bit.

    I would <u> the links.

    The red cell (search box area) looks too plain...and possibly too big.

    I don't know that you need the images next to the top level categories.

    Ok. I'll work on that. But that was the way i initially wanted. More air ..

    re: the images-
    I don't think you need the pictures next to categories (ie: arts-and-humanities.jpg) But I could be wrong, maybe it's better w/ them.

    Maybe you could move the links outside of the box and just leave the searchbox. This would reduce the overall size and might look better.

    Maybe someone else will have some better suggestions for you.

    I agree, you should tighten up the homepage so it doesn't take so much space. As for the images beside each category, Instead of losing them, I would make them just a tad smaller and put the subcategories in the same cell as the main cat name, so they don't take so much space.
