Hi,I'm currently in the process of migrating from Webtrends to GA, however i'm noticing some odd discrepancies between the 2 however. Monthly Stats ImpressionsGA = 10.5 Million WT = 10 Million (I can live with this)VisitorsGA = 1.85 Million WT = 1.1 Million - This is a huge discrepancy. Does anyone know why this would be?VisitsGA = 2.5 million WT = 1.8 Million - Again this is a huge discrepancy. Is anybody able to shed any light on why this is or has had similar issues before. Which results should i trust as the definitions seem to be identical for these. Thanks,
I have seen huge discrepancies among several analytics tools. In most of the cases -in my experience- they were caused because one of the tools counted robots as views / visitors and the other one didn't, and also because some analytics tools count almost any view / visitor while others try to block and not count "spam visitors", for instance hits that are coming from anonymous proxies (used by comment spamming tools, etc). Maybe this can explain at least part of the difference. I don't know WT, but you can compare visitors statistics (user agents, countries, etc) from both of them, and try to narrow down where the differences are.
