Websites on the same IP address

    Hi,

I read sometimes that s/e will punish you if you have lots of sites on the same IP address linking to each other. Does anybody know "how many" sites this sort of action kicks in?

I mean I have like 10 sites linking each other, will I get punished for this?

    Thanks

I don't think you get punished. I thought your links just aren't valued as much.

Hmm, let us see what other people say.

By the way, is your interlinking site-wide or only some pages/one page?

I read about this too, makes sense. Someone could create hundreds of websites, pages and links trying to trick Google that something is more important than it really is.

But I don't think 10, or even 100 websites are enough. Google does know about co-locations and corporate datacenters, after all. I mean, punish IBM then :p

It will seem odd if one day there's one website, and next week there are hundreds inter-linking themselves. That probably sets up a flag somewhere. But if the growth is more like an organic one, with links from outside, and the content is either unique or good, then there's nothing to worry.

From what I can make out I have nothing to worry about as all my sites are content based, ignoring the ones in my signature :)

i've got many sites on the same server and ip,
if they're relevant or they have enough backlinks then don't worry to link them eachother

I know for a fact that Google doesn't punish websites with the same IP linking to each other.

We are working with 1000+ domains linking each other. (For us it helps in getting the pages indexed regularly).
The punishment can be in the form of low ranking due to a lesser value of this links.
If you have links pointed from other IPs other than hese links and in a higher number and more relevant, there should not be a any problem.

I think 10 sites linking to each other from same IP address will not be a problem. But If you will make 500+ sites then it will be big problem.

Also try to link only from home page or so... what I mean to say is do not use sitewidelink for interlinking of 10 sites..
