    Hi,

I have always a hard time deciding how width my website will be..

I read somewhere that 40% or so still use 800x600 screens... so it would be smart to have a website that those users can enjoy.

But why does big sites like facebook.com and youtube.com have over 1000px in width?

Shuld I design my website for 800x600 users aswell?

Barely anyone uses 800x600 now, you should cater for people with a minimum of 1024x768

All my websites are 960px wide normally

I think, the display modes are different from one user to another. so, the width of the site 800x600px is default for everybody. Anyone can view the site quite normal and this px is suitable for all browsers.
